Nonprofit & Civic Digital Strategy
Real infrastructure for organizations that can't afford an agency.
Nonprofits, advocacy groups, and civic institutions get pitched an agency retainer priced for a business budget, or volunteer hours and free tools stretched past what they can hold. I build the systems directly, and the numbers are public.
Real proof, not a pitch
- Indigenous communities reached nationally (HEET)
- 16 across Canada
- Social media view growth, year-over-year (Get on the Bus)
- +300%
- Verified community resources, searched on local Kingston hardware (Nearfolk)
- 372+
- Advocacy form submissions in one 4-week campaign (Get on the Bus)
- 200+
Nonprofits, advocacy groups, and civic institutions get pitched the same two options: a full agency retainer priced for a business budget, or volunteer hours and free tools stretched past what they can hold. The organizations doing the most important work in this province usually have the least infrastructure behind it.
I build the systems directly: strategy, design, code, and deployment from the same person who diagnosed the problem. That keeps cost down to what the work actually takes, not what four handoffs and an account manager add on top.
Some of my nonprofit and municipal clients need AI features but can't accept a US-hosted service touching community data. I've already solved that: Nearfolk runs its search on an open-source model on local hardware in Kingston, so nothing leaves Canada. That's shipped, not theoretical, and it's available for any project that needs the same guarantee.
Ontario's AODA reporting deadline lands December 31, 2026 for organizations with 20+ employees, and a lot of municipal and nonprofit sites aren't ready. I built HEET's national tour site to WCAG 2.2 AA myself, the same standard this site meets, from day one of the build.
Not a good fit if you need a large in-house team managed on your behalf, or if the real blocker is board-level change management rather than a build. This works best with a single decision-maker or a small committee who can greenlight scope and let me run with it.
