Brand Identity Design in Brockville, Ontario
Your brand doesn't match the strategy behind it, because a different person built each one.

Brockville calls itself the City of the 1000 Islands, and visitors see that name everywhere. Your business needs a look of its own that people remember, whether they're locals who've driven past your sign for years or visitors in town for the summer. I start by working out who your best customers are and what you want them to think of you. Then I design the logo, colours, fonts and templates so everything matches.
Heritage buildings and signs
Brockville has 22 properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, and changes that affect what makes them heritage need Council approval. If your business is in one, check with the City before you change your sign. Heritage Brockville offers free advice on colours, materials and signage, and I'm happy to design with that advice in hand.
Proudly Made in Brockville
The City's Proudly Made in Brockville program gives local manufacturers stickers for their packaging and retailers a window decal. If you make something here, your own brand should sit comfortably next to that sticker and still look like you.
What this looked like for Build Up
Build Up, a new entrepreneurship program, started with no name and no look. Research shaped the name and the visual identity, and a launch campaign introduced it. Applications for fall 2025 came in 25% higher than the previous intake. See the Build Up case study →
Based in Kingston, I work with Brockville businesses remotely: no local office, no handoffs, the same person for strategy through delivery.

Questions
- Is there grant money for a new sign or storefront?
- Maybe. The City's Downtown Community Improvement Plan describes a façade grant and a heritage signage grant, but the plan marks both as not currently funded, and I couldn't confirm whether that has changed. Ask the City before you count on either. If one is open, I can design to its rules.
- Do I need a whole new brand or just a better logo?
- Start with what's not working. If people mix you up with someone else, don't get what you sell, or see a different look on your sign than on your website, that tells us how big the job is. Sometimes a cleaner logo is enough.
- Should my brand use the 1000 Islands or the river?
- Only if it fits what you do. The City of the 1000 Islands name promotes the city. Your brand promotes your business, so the river can be part of it, but your look should still be yours.
- Do you need to be in Brockville to design our brand?
- No. I'm in Kingston, about an hour west on the 401. Planning calls and design reviews happen by video, with the same person from the first call to the final files.
- How much does brand design cost?
- Logo refreshes start at $600 plus HST, and full brand identities at $1,500, both fixed. That covers 3 concepts and one revision round. Anything printed or digital, like signs or social templates, is quoted on its own.
