Your site looks fine, but it isn't bringing in calls or bookings, and some customers may find it hard to use.

Plenty of new customers check you out online before they call, whether they found you on Google, the FindLocal Belleville directory or a friend's recommendation. Your website has a few seconds to show them you're the right choice. I design and build each site myself, from how it looks to the booking, contact forms and tracking behind it.

What your site should do for you

Show what you do and where you are on the first screen. Make it easy to call or book from a phone. Answer the questions you get every day, so you don't have to. Tell you which customers came from Google. If a few pages are all you need, I'll build just that and quote it that way.

New in town and looking for you

Every summer, military families posted to CFB Trenton arrive in the Quinte region and start looking for a dentist, a mechanic or a daycare. They don't know anyone here yet, so your website does the introducing. A clear site that loads quickly and gets to the point is what turns their search into a booking.

Does the accessibility law apply to you?

Only the website part, and only at 50 or more employees, counting part-time and seasonal staff. At that size, your public site has had to meet a standard called WCAG 2.0 AA since 2021. With 20 to 49 employees, you file a report by December 31, 2026, and it only covers customer service. Under 20, there's nothing to file. I build every site to the newer version, 2.2, because an easy site helps every customer. The City of Belleville holds its own new web content to the 2.0 standard.

What this looked like for HEET

HEET ran a home energy tour through 16 communities across Canada, and people in every one of them needed to use its website. I built it and kept it running myself, with an interactive map of the stops, to AODA accessibility standards, while also handling the tour's marketing. See the HEET case study →

Based in Kingston, I work with Belleville businesses remotely: no local office, no handoffs, the same person for strategy through delivery.

Questions

Can you fix our current site instead of starting over?
Often, yes. If the basics are sound, a few changes to how it reads on a phone, how fast it loads and how easy you are to contact can go a long way. I'll look first and tell you which makes more sense.
Does the AODA apply to my small business?
The website part only applies at 50 or more employees. Smaller businesses still have customer service duties, like providing information in an accessible format if someone asks for it.
What happens on December 31, 2026?
If you have 20 or more employees, it's the deadline for your accessibility compliance report, which you file online every three years. From 20 to 49 it's about customer service. At 50 or more it asks about your website too, so check the site before you file.
Do you need to be in Belleville to build our site?
No. I'm in Kingston, about an hour east on the 401, and the design, build and launch all happen remotely. You deal with the same person from the first conversation to launch day.
How much does a website cost?
Fixed-price sites start at $1,600 plus HST for four pages, with the writing and accessibility work included. A five-page site you can update yourself starts at $2,000. Hosting, photos, booking and payments are priced separately.

Get a real technical snapshot of your site

Paste your URL. This runs a real technical pass against the actual page, not a self-report quiz: title and meta tags, image alt text, structured data, mobile signals, real performance data, and Domain Authority/backlink data. A first-pass snapshot, not a full audit.

So I can send you this result. I won't add you to a list.
